Church-based activities

Sunday School

Sunday SchoolSunday School meets during the 10.30am service during term time (not half terms). Once a month we have a family friendly All Age Service instead. Details of the Spring 2018 term’s dates can be found here

All children coming to church are most welcome to join us to explore a  bible story using discussion, games and craft activities.

Groups are led by our team of trained, security-checked volunteers who will be happy to answer any  questions you may have.

We meet in these age groups:

Creche (under 3)

Pre-school (3 until start of Reception)

Reception/Year 1

Year 2/ Year 3

Year 4 – Year 6

Sunday School 1All groups now meet in the church with the Creche in the Burn Jones room and the older children’s Sunday School in the William Morris room.  If you are new, please ask a steward in church to show you where your child’s group meets.

We ask you to drop your child off by 10.30am, and we will bring the children to the back of church just before Holy Communion.

We look forward to welcoming your child to Sunday School.  If you have any questions, please contact Jackie Davis.

Godly Play

Godly play

We run Godly Play sessions for children. These take place within the normal Sunday School sessions; approximately twice a term. This is a well established method of telling stories from our Christian tradition, in a way that has been inspired by the Montessori method of education. Feedback from children and their parents has been very positive; please do ask your child about it. For any queries regarding Godly Play, or if you would like to volunteer to train in Godly Play story telling, please contact Daisy Gardener

Crèche

Creche on SundayThere is a crèche (for children up to the age of three) held in the Burne-Jones Room at All Saints’, every Sunday, during the 10:30 Parish Eucharist and you are very welcome to join us at any time during the service. We rejoin the main congregation for communion.

It is a friendly retreat for those whose children struggle to sit through an entire service and is also a great way to meet other members of the congregation, particularly if you are new to the area.

The crèche is run by volunteers from the congregation, usually with young children themselves. All the volunteers are DBS checked prior to joining the rota of helpers and have to have been worshipping regularly at All Saints’ for at least a year.

We are always looking for new volunteers, so if you use the crèche and feel you could help out from time to time, please contact Alex

Servers

Servers 5We are fortunate to have a group of servers who assist the Vicar during the Sunday Parish Eucharist at 10.30 am. Children in Year 3 and above are very welcome to join in and serve.

Please email Alex Corner or see him after the service for more information.

All Saints’ Church Sunday Choir

choirMost Sundays at the 10.30am Parish Eucharist (except when we have an All Age service), the church choir sings an introit and anthems during communion. The choir is conducted by Patrick Allies (Director of Music) and is made up of members of the congregation, supported by 4 Choral Scholars. Some ability to read music is essential. If anyone is interested in joining the choir, they should see Patrick after the service.

Bible Study Group

bible study group

This bible study group meets fortnightly on Fridays at 10am for about 1½ hours at different venues within Putney. Membership is limited to eight people in order for everyone to have a chance to join in a discussion.  Anyone interested in joining should ring Amanda Cameron on 0208 789 7442.  (Due to the fact that the group meets during the day, it is currently made up of all women, however that should not exclude any man who works from home!)
