Baptism

Baptism of Cerian Davies at All Saints' church, Putney Common, May 2010

Baptism

We are fortunate enough to be able to celebrate around 100 baptisms within the parish each year. As a result our churches have lots of children of all ages who attend our services. We follow the Church of England practice which states that anyone who lives within the parish, or who is on the Parish Electoral Register, is welcome to be baptized, or arrange to have their children baptized.

Which parish do I live in? ‘A Church Near You’

At All Saints’ Church, Services of Baptism are held once a month at 12.00 pm following the main Parish Eucharist. You may provisionally book a place for your child at one of our baptism services, however before we are able to confirm the booking we ask that you attend one of our Baptism Matters Part I courses, held approximately once every two months. In addition to this session you will be invited to a Sunday service at which you and your child will be presented to, and welcomed by the congregation, and just before the baptism service you will be invited to attend a brief rehearsal (Baptism Matters Part II).

If your child is 3 years old or over, he/she may be invited for some additional preparation.

Adults seeking baptism prepare by learning about the faith and are usually baptized and confirmed at the same service by the Bishop.

To arrange a baptism please contact Lottie Clarke.
