Holy Communion (BCP)
Intimate and reflective service, with a sermon, but no hymns. It attracts a loyal congregation of 15-20 people, and is particularly popular amongst our more senior parishioners.
Parish Eucharist (CW)
This is our main service of the week, especially aimed at families, and regularly attended by up to 100 adults and 50 children. Music includes hymns, congregational mass setting, and motets ‘from Palestrina to Parry’ sung to a high standard by our choir. There is a crèche facility for the under 3 year olds, and for most services, Sunday Schools operate during term time for the 3 – 11 age groups, creating space and serenity, and attentiveness at sermon time! The whole congregation comes together at communion.
Once a month (usually the first Sunday of the month) we come together for an All Age Eucharist – there is no Sunday School on these days see here for details.
Sunday 6.00 pm (Monthly)
Choral Evensong dates back to the time of the Reformation, using elements of the old monastic Offices of Vespers and Compline.
The service is the jewel in the crown of the Anglican choral tradition and intertwines prayerful worship with exquisite sacred music, a combination that has proved to be tremendously popular throughout the centuries.
As we come together in a church at the end of the day we join a vast community enduring both through time and in the same place, by acting in the same way as countless people have done before us for over a thousand years.
Morning Prayer (CCP)
Monday to Friday 9.15am
A quiet, reflective, said service in the chancel, with readings from the scripture and the recitation of psalms, working through a cycle of prayer for the parish. Currently led in rotation by the Vicar, Curate, Pastoral Assistant and laypeople.
There is usually no Morning Prayer on Bank Holidays and during the week following Easter Day & Christmas Day but it can vary. During August 2019 there is a change to past years and it is being held daily as normal.
Thursday Eucharist (CW)
Very child-friendly service attended by parents/carers and their children. This service is immediately followed by the Baby and Toddler Playgroup at 10.30 with play, music, singing and refreshments. This takes place during term time only, excluding half term.
