Children and Young People

Welcome!

At All Saints’ Putney, we are totally committed to ensuring that children can fully participate in church life and worship and there are many activities on offer for our younger congregation throughout the year. This page tells you about what’s on…

Small Saints

See our Small Saints section in ‘Worship’ for more information.

All Together Services

Our children and young people are at the heart of our All-Together Services, where they take the lead in readings, prayers and the collection. Several times a year, they will also lead the sermon. The adult and children’s choirs will often perform together at these services, further bridging the differing ages of our church community.

These services provide an opportunity for the whole congregation to worship and share faith together and reflect our value that everyone in our congregation is equally important.

Toddler Eucharist

See Toddler Eucharist section in ‘Worship’ for more information.

Special Services and Events

During the year, we hold several events specifically for children and young people. These include a Shrove Tuesday ‘Pancake’ service, an Easter Saturday building of the Easter Garden and various Christmas celebrations.

Do check this site, the Church Mouse and church noticeboards for information about upcoming events.

Environment Group

This newly established group seeks to keep environmental concerns at the forefront of our faith and worship. The group meets every few months to discuss how All Saints’ Church can take steps to ensure we are environmentally aware and working towards being carbon neutral, as well as linking our care of the planet to our faith and sharing this with the wider congregation. The groups thoughts and ideas feed into the Parish environment group and so contribute to broader strategy planning and implementation of positive change.

Treblemakers and Youth Choir

Music is an integral part of our worship at All Saints’ and this is equally the case for our younger singers, who frequently perform at our main Sunday Eucharist.

For more details about both of these choirs and how to join please go to the Church Life tab – Music, Choir Music, Youth Music.

Entry to First Communion

For more information please go to the Life Events tab, First Communion.

Wider work

In addition to our work with those who attend our weekly services, we also have a close relationship with All Saints’ Primary School, who regularly visit the church for services and who our clergy visit to lead assemblies and undertake Godly Play sessions. This provides a wider range of children, other than those who attend our church, with the chance to learn more about Christianity and to reflect upon what faith is to them.

All Saints’ continually work to share and encourage the exploration of faith with all children, young people and their families, both in and outside of the church, and warmly welcome all. If you have any questions, or want to know more about what we offer at All Saints’, please do not hesitate to contact Jackie Davis, Children and Families worker – jackie.davis@parishofputney.co.uk

Safeguarding

The safety and welfare of all of community is paramount and we have comprehensive safeguarding policies and risk assessments for all our activities.  For further details please go to our Safeguarding section.
